If you need help narrowing down your Argentina vacation package options, here are five great places to visit during your Argentina Travel Adventure.
1. Bariloche. Bariloche is located in southwestern Argentina, close to the border with Chile. It is a charming base for exploring Argentina’s forests and lakes. The city’s full name is San Carlos de Bariloche, and is part of the Argentina Patagonia. The foothills of the Andes lie to the west of the town, and the steeps of Patagonia are to the east. The town itself sits on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Ski lovers are in luck in Bariloche, as Cerro Catedral is the largest ski field in South America, offering world-class skiing opportunities.
2. Buenos Aires. No trip to Argentina is complete without a visit to its vibrant capital, Buenos Aires. Located in central eastern Argentina, closer to the Uruguay boarder, Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan center of businesses, tango clubs, and fine dining. Often called the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires really is a proud capital. This is the city where tango was born, in 1920 in the streets of the city. It started in the poorer suburbs before it gained world-wide popularity.
3. Iguazu. Iguazu the town itself isn’t that great—although it is nestled in the lush jungle. What makes this a must see city is its close proximity to Iguazu Falls. The falls are an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and are four times wider than Niagra Falls in North America, and some of the falls of the waterfall system are even taller. The falls sit along the border of Argentina and Brazil, so you can visit them from either country.
4. Ushuaia. Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, a fact cool enough by itself to make you want to visit it. Hanging on to the tip of Patagonia, Ushuaia is a popular destination for launching cruises into Antarctica. It is also a good hub for people who want to explore the beauty of Tierra del Fuego national park.
5. Mendoza. No visit to Argentina is 100% perfect if you don’t get to sample the wine. And if you’re in Argentina, you might as well go right to the source—Mendoza. The city itself is cute and charming, but the real attractions are the lush vineyards that grow around it.
